Working in a domestic kitchen will require you to be resourceful, discrete, efficient and flexible. You’ll need to be able to menu plan for specific locations, styles and situations, making the most of seasonal, local ingredients. There may be special dietary requirements to take into account and you’ll need knowledge of cooking on specific types of equipment – for example, an Aga. Private Chef needed to help a family celebrate a 50th Wedding Anniversary at a large country house near Stroud, Gloucestershire from 27 May evening until 3 June breakfast. There will be 7 adults and 6 children - (5 girls and 1 boy ages 6-13). Simple breakfasts with e.g. eggs to order; lunches of soups/quiche/salads with the main focus on the evening meal. Children will eat first - mostly simple pasta dishes or similar. Adults enjoy creative, delicious dishes and will most nights be 2 courses + cheese with one celebration evening to include canapes and 3 courses. One adult is on a Keto Diet for health reasons, so will need low carb, zero sugar and is vegetarian.
